We continue our historical view of Christianity with the 16th century Churches which grew out of the Protestant Reformation. We will examine what the various religions believe from the Baptists to the common roots that Catholic Christians share with our separated Christian brothers and sisters.
One item of major importance is that only the Catholic Church is Apostolic, i.e. our roots can be traced back to the Apostles and to Jesus who ordained them. We also have a unity of teaching and authority which again finds its roots at the Last Supper.
Protestantism on the other hand lacks a centrality or unity and thus there are many different denominations that have various beliefs.
